NORTHERN LIGHTS LIVE 2012.
Between January 20th and Feb 1st 2012 I will be in Norway to shoot the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. I will be trying to feed near live images of the Aurora to this page on a nightly basis on the 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, and 30th of January, weather and technology permitting.
We only have an extremely limited data connection where we will be based, so please don’t expect real-time live video. What I do hope to have is a fresh high resolution image of the Northern Lights on this page every 30 seconds, within seconds of the image actually being captured. As well as the still images there will be written updates and video clips that should go online on the 25th and 31st of January.
I will be updating this page closer to our departure date with more information as well as external links to the image feed.
Wow, that is spectacular. All the best!
What kit do you have with you
Sorry Alister I have just read your starter page, F3 etc, shame you could not take the Canon C300.
Looks like it’s going to be a good night
looks fab Alistair next year if you go, I might just get my snow boots out and join the trip! enjoy
I’ll be opening up bookings for next years trips at the end of Feb. All this years trips sold out so don’t wait too long if you want a spot.
beauriful!! 🙂
Very welcome to the Arctic Sapmi again Alister. We will try the very best to open the sky, so lady Aurora can show her beauty 🙂
I hope to manage to come up for a visit on tuesday. Best regards edmund
Hi Edmund. Love to see you on Tuesday. Maybe you can chase away the clouds for us!
Really hope you get some clear skies soon. Looking fwd to meeting you Alister and all on this trip on Wed night and hoping we get clear skies too for our trip. (25th Jan to 1st Feb).
Had clear skies briefly tonight but no Aurora. Hoping it will clear later, or tomorrow night. -22c here right now!
Looks like Aberdeenshire may have been a better place to see the Aurora going by some pics I saw this evening.
Nature is so wonderful. Beautiful shots. Can’t wait to join you on the 25th.
Well done look forward to seeing your footage
Fantastic footage but am I seeing a dead pixel right in the centre of your footage. I do realise you are pushing the F3 to its limits. I would cut the wind noise.
Incredible. The skies and lights look out of this world. Hope Mark,Sue and rest of intrepid crew are enjoying the experience. At least you have plenty of ice for a decent G and T !!
Happy and safe journey home. Best wishes to all, Paul Holmes
