January 24th Solar Storm Aurora Pictures and Video.

24th January 2012.

Pictures and video from 24th Jan Below. What more can I say. This was an incredible evening that I will never forget. A strong solar flare impacted the earth creating incredible Auroras that filled the night sky with a rainbow of colours. I just didn’t know where to look or what to shoot. Just wait till you see the videos! I was shooting with a motion control head for star  tracking pans and the timing is perfect with the camera panning through the Aurora right at it’s peak. I was also able to shoot real time video of the Aurora with the F3, so not speeded up. You can see the true motion of the Northern Lights in the video. I’m in the process of preparing a real time video clip that you won’t believe. The images are incredible. Keep checking back as I hope to have the new clip online soon.

  1. Thank You for sharing this Movie it was Marvelous , once we will go there to see it in real.

Greetings Ruurd & Reina from Holland Joure

  2. I am much taken with your splendid video of the aurora from Tromso on 2/24/12, which I have watched at Vimeo.com/35790728. In that post, you note that you will upload a higher resolution video after Feb.2nd. I’m curious if you did indeed upload such a video, and where I might find it.

Thanks for your help and keep up the great work!

    Larry Deckman
